Former Smallworld Systems Product Engineer to Head Up Any*GIS Project Implementation

Westminster, CO - January 14, 2004 - Hitachi Software Global Technology, Ltd. (HSGT), the leading provider of spatial data and Open GIS solutions, announces the appointment of Mrs. Yue 
Xi Savage as its new project engineer. She will be responsible for Any*GIS project implementation 
and product development for utility and government applications. 

Prior to joining HSGT, Yue was a key member of 
GE Power Systems (formerly Smallworld Systems, Inc.), where she was instrumental in the development and launch of electric utility applications and interoperability initiatives. She also has over 10 years of GIS experience in pre-sales, product marketing, project management, services and support. 

"Yue's experience and skills match perfectly with our open standards GIS solutions and especially within our network infrastructure customers such 
as utilities and telecommunications companies," commented Robert Carroll, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for HSGT. "Her expertise in object-oriented software development and standards interoperability will be applied to several of our current and future Any*GIS projects."

Yue holds a bachelor's degree in engineering mathematics and computer science from Colorado School of Mines and a master's degree in engineering and computer science from University of Colorado.
