Hitachi Software Global Technology Signs Pictometry® as Master North American Distibutor for Hitachi HouseDiff® Services
Combined with Pictometry Change Analysis™, Users Can Simultaneously Compare Existing and New Aerial Imagery for Changes in Building and Land Features
ROCHESTER,
NY and WESTMINSTER, CO – February 1, 2006 – Pictometry International Corp., the worldwide leader in
digital, aerial oblique imagery and measuring software, and Hitachi Software
Global Technology (HSGT), the leader in automatic building change detection
solutions, announced today that Pictometry will become the Master North American
distributor for the Hitachi HouseDiff®
service offering. Under terms of the agreement signed by the two companies,
Pictometry will market and sell the Hitachi HouseDiff product as a complementary
offering to its own Pictometry Professional (EFS) and Pictometry Change Analysis™
software systems.
Hitachi HouseDiff® automatically detects changes in an area that could go undetected, such as additions to existing structures, demolitions, land use changes, new construction, or other real property features. Pictometry Change Analysis allows the direct comparison on a computer monitor of previous aerial imagery with recent imagery of the same area. Combining the Pictometry Change Analysis Viewer with the Hitachi’s HouseDiff® process, users can now view the change candidates side-by-side with new imagery, as well as verify and analyze the changes using the multiple views from Pictometry’s oblique imagery.
Pictometry’s industry leading professional software enables users to easily access up to 12 different oblique (at an angle) views of any property, building, highway, or other feature in an area. The software also enables users to obtain measurements such as distance, height, elevation, and area directly from the oblique imagery as well as insert GIS content and other data.
"Our
marketing and sales agreement with Pictometry gives us an immediate presence
into hundreds of potential opportunities," said Hitachi Software Global
Technology President Fumi Komura.
"Pictometry is clearly recognized as the foremost authority in oblique
imaging technology that complements our HouseDiff product."
"When
we saw HouseDiff®
we
felt it was the perfect partner for Pictometry Change Analysis™. This is truly
one of those cases where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts,"
said Pictometry Chief Technology Officer Stephen Schultz.
"This
is a significant development for our two companies," said Pictometry Chief
Marketing Officer Dante Pennacchia. "The combination of Pictometry Change
Analysis and HouseDiff® from Hitachi is
a powerful solution that has many uses ranging from appraisal and assessment
verification, community planning, engineering, to disaster response and
planning. We are very pleased to continue our growing partnership with
Hitachi."
