Multi-year Agreement Provides Footprint Generation & Change Detection Services Westminster, CO - February 24, 2005 - Hitachi Software Global Technology has been contracted by Arkansas CAMA Technology to provide HouseDiff service for a three year project with the Washington County, Arkansas Tax Assessor Office. The multi-phase HouseDiff project will involve initial building footprint generation and year-on-year change detection to data sets used for generating tax rolls in the northwest Arkansas county. HouseDiff is an automatic change detection engine that assists tax assessors and local governments in maintaining more accurate, up-to-date building data. HouseDiff combines existing GIS building and parcel data with recently acquired imagery, resulting in a new GIS file with information on which buildings have changed. This approach accelerates the data collection process for tax assessors and increases the efficiency of manual on-site inspections. While HouseDiff was designed as an automatic change detection service, the service can also be supplemented to generate first-time building footprints. Phase one of the project will involve initial building footprint generation for the county. The year-on-year change detection projects will be completed in May 2005, 2006 and 2007. A jurisdiction of 180,000 residents, Washington County is located in the northwest corner of Arkansas. The county seat, Fayetteville, is the home of the University of Arkansas.
