Hitachi Software Hires John Meredith and Shashikala Shamarao

Two Appointments Add To Company's GIS Integration Expertise

Westminster, CO - July 2, 2004 - Hitachi Software Global Technology, Ltd. (HSGT), the leading provider of spatial data integration and Open GIS solutions, announces the appointment of two new employees, Mr. John Meredith and Ms. Shashikala Shamarao. Both employees join Hitachi Software as members of the Any*GIS product team in the GIS group.

Shashikala Shamarao joined Hitachi Software on May 27th as a project engineer. She is responsible for customer specific project services and technical development and enhancement of the Any*GIS Smallworld GeoAdapter(r). She has a bachelor's degree in telecommunication engineering from Bangalore University and was most recently employed by GE Power as a technical lead in the Smallworld Internet Application Server team.

John Meredith joined Hitachi on June 28th as an account executive. He will be responsible for sales of Any*GIS to utilities and telecommunication companies in North and South America. His previous work background includes twelve years of technical sales experience with Broadband Services Inc., GE Smallworld, and Autodesk. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical design engineering from Brigham Young University.
